Some of our HERO children...

The number of sessions required per child depends on numerous factors, including the age and resilience of the child, the nature of the traumatic event and their support system. Ideally, each child should have a minimum of six to eight therapy sessions at a cost of between R 1 050.00 and R 1 400.00 per child.

Reaching out.....

"I was very happy because I could talk about all the things that were happening in the house. It was bad news for me when I was in such a state. Then I couldn't come to school because my parent  was sent to jail, they threw my school books in the water. I couldn't come to school because of their manners. My Aunty, her name is Jacqui, she was very rude to us in the house. Our household did not liker her because of her manners that she had. Now I can say that I feel happy about what is going on in the house. My sister did not like Jacqui's manners but now I believe that she will always stay this way with no bad thoughts. Not that she loves us all things are going very well in our family. I just want my youngest child Patricia to please come back to school and leave all the things that she is busy with. I don't like it that people are saying bad things about her. We wish strength to everyone in our household and may God bless us all. I think that it was necessary to speak to someone else otherwise it would have still been the same in the house as it was in the past"

An 8 year old boy, raped by older youths. His mother “punished” him by expecting him to stay indoors constantly. After guiding his Mom to a better understanding, he drew this picture of his happy home.
